Albion Park Public School
Located in the heart of Albion Park, our school's mission is to provide a quality education in a caring environment. Our school's motto is "Share, Learn and Grow" which is reinforced throughout the whole school. We actively encourage parents to support our teaching and learning programs and to have a high level of involvement in fundraising ventures, volunteers in classrooms and the canteen, in the library, in sports coaching, book club and throughout all of our activities. The school runs various programs including L3, Reading to Learn, guided reading, use of technology in teaching and learning and an integrated rotation teaching approach to our senior students to help them not only prepare for high school but to utilise the expertise of our existing teachers. There is also a recycling program and environmental program. The school has 4 support classes that are integrated in mainstream activities across all areas of the school curriculum. Our students represent in many sports both at a district and state level and compete within our own region in swimming, athletics, cross country, netball, soccer, AFL, rugby league and cricket. The school has participated in Southern Stars and the Southern Illawarra Music Festival for over 10 years and have established debating teams and school choirs. The Student Representative Council takes an active role in decision making within the school and provides great opportunities for leadership development. We have an abundance of landscaped areas, 3 covered learning areas, well grassed playing fields, a large air conditioned hall, well resourced library, all classrooms being air conditioned and stocked with Interactive White Board/touch screen TV Technology including use of iPads throughout the school and outdoor seating for quiet learning. Stage 3 students utilise BYOD throughout the curriculum.
