The Ponds High School upgrade

As part of the NSW Government's plan to rebuild public education, the NSW Budget is delivering $3.9 billion for new and upgraded schools in Western Sydney. This targeted investment will ensure growing communities get access to a world class public education.

Review of Environmental Factors (REF) now on exhibition

The planning application, known as a Review of Environmental Factors (REF), for the upgrade is now on public exhibition on the NSW Planning Portal for Division 5.1 (Part 5) Activities until 3 November 2025.

Detailed plans for the proposed activity are set out in the REF, which can be viewed at edu.nsw.link/ThePondsHS-REF.

Any comments on the proposal may be lodged through the Planning Portal by no later than 3 November 2025.

The benefits

The Ponds High School will receive:

  • 49 permanent classrooms to replace dozens of demountable classrooms currently on the school site
  • extension to the northern carpark for 56 additional car spaces
  • an upgrade to the electricity substation
  • an upgrade to the sports field 
  • new cricket nets.
