The benefits
- Four new flexible, permanent learning spaces.
- A new Covered Outdoor Learning Area (COLA) and communal gathering space.
- Replacement of the roof on the heritage building and refurbishment of teaching spaces and the staff administration area.

- Upgrade works at Newcastle East Public School are now complete.
- The new nature play area, cricket net and open play space are now open to staff and students. Testing has been completed to ensure the playground is fully remediated and the school has received a clearance certificate.
Next steps
- Minor maintenance activities to complete concreting and fencing will take place in Term 1 2021.
