New beginning for Bardia Public School

Release date: 26 January 2019

It will be a day of firsts for Bardia Public School teachers and students this week when they return to start the new school year in their new $35 million educational facility.

The school can now accommodate up to 1,000 students, with 40 new flexible classrooms, four special education classrooms, a covered outdoor learning area, special programs rooms, and a new library, hall and canteen.

All classrooms will be air conditioned as part of the NSW Government’s Cooler Classrooms program that is seeing air conditioning delivered in thousands of classrooms across the State.

Bardia Public School is one of 17 new and upgraded schools opening across NSW for the first day of term.

With Bardia Public School complete, there are five additional new and upgraded schools still in the planning, design or construction across the local area.

The NSW Government is investing $6 billion over the next four years to deliver more than 170 new and upgraded schools to support communities across NSW. In addition, $847 million is being spent on school maintenance over four years.
