Quality Assurance Program
The Water Quality Assurance Program (QAP) is an important ongoing initiative led by School Infrastructure to ensure all public schools in NSW with tank water supplies maintain safe, reliable, and compliant drinking water systems.
The QAP aligns with the requirements of the Public Health Act 2010 and the Public Health Regulation 2022 and supports the Department of Education’s ongoing commitment to student and staff wellbeing, infrastructure compliance, and proactive risk management.
All schools that rely on tank water will require a current QAP. This will be coordinated by your Asset Service Officer.
Who Needs a QAP?
A QAP is required for schools that use any of the following as a source of drinking water (including for consumption and food preparation).
- Rainwater
- Water provided by a carter or tanker.
Schools that are connected exclusively to town water do not require a QAP.
