Whole-of-government cleaning contract sites
From 1 January 2026, the NSW Department of Education will manage the whole-of-government cleaning contracts for all regions across the state, excluding the Hunter and Central Coast.
Until 31 December 2025, cleaning services across participating sites will continue under the current whole-of-government contracts managed by NSW Public Works.
The department is progressing work to ensure a smooth handover and uninterrupted service delivery under the new model.

Whole-of-government stakeholders are invited to online drop-in sessions from mid-December to learn more about:
- how the Cleaning Services team will support school staff and all other site managers
- what will be included under the new cleaning services arrangements
- how to manage requests and escalate issues under the new models
These sessions will be most useful for those who need a more detailed, operational understanding of the upcoming changes.
Representatives from organisations covered by the new whole-of-government cleaning arrangements who would like to receive an invitation to these sessions can complete the online form.
