This project was one of the first NSW public schools that integrated community facilities and set a benchmark to encourage greater innovation in future public school design.
The establishment of this new school caters for increased education demand from the Rhodes Peninsular and the Strathfield North and Parramatta Road development areas.
In addition to the building of the new public school, the project incorporated a 47-place day care centre (operated by City of Canada Bay Council), an early childhood health centre (operated by NSW Health), shared community sports facilities and an enlarged hall that accommodates out of school hours community use.
The hall, adjoining the community sports field, and the school’s multipurpose court, is available for community use outside of school hours, including Out Of School Hours (OOSH) care.
This school marks the beginning of a new era of NSW public schools addressing the needs of students in the 21st Century.
