As part of the NSW Government's plan to rebuild public education, the NSW Budget is delivering $3.9 billion for new and upgraded schools in Western Sydney. This targeted investment will ensure growing communities get access to a world class public education.

The Telopea Public School upgrade will provide additional permanent class rooms and core facilities.

The upgrade will deliver:

a new hall with additional amenities
a refurbishment of the existing school hall to create 2 new classrooms.

The existing student amenities (Block K) will be demolished to provide more open space for the students.

Further updates regarding the Telopea Public School upgrade will be released as the project progresses.

Progress summary

The NSW government is planning an upgrade to Telopea Public School to accommodate the future needs of the growing community. The project forms part of a broader strategy of investment in the Parramatta East area to cater for predicted enrolment growth.

Planning is currently underway for the project. Onsite due diligence is complete. A master plan for the upgrade works has been developed by considering demographic trends, the educational requirements of the school and the condition of existing buildings. A team of architects, planners and design professionals are currently being appointed to the project.

Next steps

A Project Reference Group (PRG) will be established shortly, which will include architects, the project team and members of the school leadership. This will mark the start of the master plan validation process which will continue over the coming months to make sure the final design meets the school’s needs.

We will continue to share information with the community as the project progresses.
