As part of the NSW Government’s plan to rebuild public education, the 2024-25 Budget is delivering record education funding, including $8.9 billion for new and upgraded schools. This targeted investment will ensure growing communities get access to a world class public education.
In early 2021 the Department of Education – School Infrastructure delivered the first stage of a new indoor sports centre as part of upgrades to St Ives High School. The facilities include two multi-use courts, a school canteen, two modern classrooms, a fitness lab, and a seminar room.
Stage 2 of the indoor sports centre is being funded by Ku-ring-gai Council together with a $3.5 million NSW Government grant. School Infrastructure is delivering the project on behalf of Council.
The second stage of the project will deliver a two-storey sports complex that includes two additional sports courts, a multipurpose room, male and female amenities, and a café. It will be built next to the facilities delivered in the first stage to provide an integrated complex of four sports courts.
The centre will be jointly operated and managed by the Council and NSW Department of Education.
