As part of the NSW Government’s plan to rebuild public education, the 2024-25 Budget is delivering record education funding, including a historic $1.4 billion for new and upgraded schools in regional NSW. This targeted investment will ensure growing communities get access to a world class public education.
As part of the plan to rebuild essential services, the NSW Government has invested $769 million to deliver 100 new public preschools, including building a new preschool at every new government primary school in NSW, to boost access to preschool across the state.
The location of the public preschools have been selected based on careful evaluation and selection criteria with considerations to educational need and demand, how children grow and learn, infrastructure feasibility, and insights gained through consultation.
Early planning is underway to consider the needs of the local area now and into the future to ensure the right preschool is designed for the community. Consultants have been engaged and site due diligence activities are underway.
We will share information throughout this project and update this dedicated project page to keep everyone informed about the progress we are making. For the most up-to-date planning updates and reports, we encourage you to visit our library.
