Work is continuing on upgrades at James Busby High School as part of the High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE) partner school program.
Upgrades to the school’s sports facilities were completed in September 2026.
The completed facilities will provide improved spaces for students to participate in sport and physical education activities. The works include resurfacing the basketball court and new line marking, and refurbishment of the outdoor table tennis area.
Planning is also progressing for the new creative and performing arts facility. The new facility will support creative and performing arts learning and include tiered seating, upgraded lighting, sound equipment and a hearing loop.
Planning for upgrades to classrooms will progress in consultation with the school. The scope of these upgrades will be developed to support contemporary teaching and learning and meet the needs of students and staff.
The new shade structure has also been completed, providing additional covered outdoor space for students. Images of the new shade structure can be seen in the June project update.
