The upgrade at Harbord Public School included the development of a new three level building to replace 14 of the school’s demountable classrooms. This created more space to cater to the increasing student numbers, enabling more student places for the growing Northern Beaches community..
The state-of-the-art building features ‘pods’ with giant cushions for comfortable working, tables which can be drawn on, hump-shapes stools, glass walls and huge TV screens for internet browsing, teaching or screenings.
The facilities also integrate the concept of ‘learnscapes’ encouraging students to engage with their environments in the outdoor learning area.
Flexible spaces, natural light and a fresh, modern design has increased student involvement and collaboration.
