The relocation of Gosford Public School to a shared site with Henry Kendall High School delivered benefits to both schools. Gosford Public School students were provided with new classrooms, dedicated play areas, and new facilities, while the project at Henry Kendall High School refurbished classrooms, upgraded science labs and a new games court.
The new school for Gosford Public School students included the delivery of:
- 21 classrooms
- four special programs rooms
- a library
- a hall
- a canteen
- an outdoor learning area
- administration and staff facilities
- a games court and free play area
- its own grassed areas for learning and play, with access to the high school oval by arrangement
- car parking.
The redevelopment provided the school with the opportunity to team teach, as many of the classrooms are separated by bi-fold doors which open up, providing an open double classroom learning space.
The school provides many exciting teaching and learning experiences for both students and teachers.
The project completed at Henry Kendall High School, in preparation for the establishment of the new Gosford Public School, was comprised of:
- refurbished classrooms in Block P
- an enlarged drama room in Block F
- refurbished classrooms
- refurbished music room
- refurbished staff facilities
- four upgraded science labs on the ground floor of Block A
- an upgrade to Block A’s courtyard
- a games court
- a new covered outdoor learning area (COLA).
The primary and high school students are separated, with unconnected playgrounds and distinct entries for each school.
