Students will continue to learn from temporary facilities while plans are underway for permanent facilities. The community will be kept informed about timelines and progress.

Yes, several of the school’s buildings that were not damaged by the fire are open for use.

All buildings that were not impacted by the fire or have experienced only minor fire impacts have been inspected and cleared by hygienists as safe to use.

We have decontaminated and removed fire damaged materials from the buildings that were significantly damaged. Any buildings that can’t be used have been fenced off and secured for the safety of students and staff.

Asbestos containing materials were found in some of the damaged buildings. Where necessary, asbestos removal was carried out by licensed and accredited asbestos contractors and monitored by occupational hygienists.

Ongoing 24/7 air monitoring is being carried out on the school grounds around the fire affected areas and results confirm zero levels of airborne asbestos. We will continue to monitor air quality in these areas.

Yes, all learning facilities will be available, including TAS workshops, the library, science labs and other specialist areas.

Yes, we have designed the temporary school buildings to ensure there is still enough green space for students to use the oval.
