New facilities will be built at Bourke Public School to cater for the existing Bourke Public School Early Years Transition Centre.

This location has been selected based on careful evaluation and selection criteria with considerations to educational need and demand, how children grow and learn, infrastructure feasibility and insights gained through consultation.

The new facilities are scheduled to be open by 2027. The operation of Bourke Public School Early Years Transition Centre will continue as usual whilst the new facilities are being built. Once these are built, the centre will begin to operate in the new facilities and the school will communicate with the community about the transition process from the existing facilities to the new facilities.

Progress summary

We are pleased to confirm that Shape Pty Ltd has been appointed as the construction contractor for the project. We will continue to work with the contractor to progress the design of the new Bourke Public School Early Years Transition Centre for construction to begin, once planning approval is received.
A Project Reference Group (PRG) made up of school and department leadership representatives and a school community representative has been established.

Next steps

Continuing with the design process for the early years transition centre. There may be some changes as we progress the design to allow for construction requirements and statutory approvals.
Preparing and submitting the planning application. Once the approval is received, we will update you on the project progress, including the final location, construction and delivery timeline.
