New operator to continue markets at Glebe Public School

Release date: 24 February 2023

An interim operator has been confirmed to operate the weekend markets at Glebe Public School.

Chourlartons Australia will operate the markets at Glebe Public School under an interim licence with the NSW Department of Education.

The interim licence will run for 12 months with the opening date of Saturday 11 March 2023.

In preparation for this, the Glebe Public School grounds will undergo essential school maintenance works on the playgrounds on Saturday 4 March 2023.

The interim licence will ensure continuity and certainty for both the local community and stallholders of the markets at Glebe Public School.

Claire Beattie, Executive Director for Asset Activations, at NSW Department for Education said:

“Schools are at the centre of our communities, and the Department supports markets on school sites given they are community assets.

“The markets have been a mainstay at Glebe Public School for more than 30 years and play a vital role in bringing the school and wider Glebe community together.”

An Expression of Interest tender process will commence shortly to identify a long-term operator for the markets at Glebe Public School.

The Department encourages all interested parties to register on e-tender for updates or send an email to: sourcing-licences@det.nsw.edu.au
