COVID-19 update: Construction activity pause

In line with the NSW Government's Public Health Orders, all construction in the Greater Sydney area is currently paused. This impacts School Infrastructure NSW’s work including:

  • major projects to deliver new and upgraded schools
  • projects to upgrade and update school facilities
  • maintenance and repair works

Our work sites will be closed until Friday 30 July 2021, but you may see some workers at public schools and school construction sites working in line with the current regulations to:

  • ensure the safety or security of the construction site or school
  • deal with environmental risks
  • maintain critical plant or equipment that would otherwise deteriorate.

School cleaning will continue, as schools remain open for students of essential workers. While the NSW Government is urging families to keep their children at home wherever possible, our schools remain open for those who need them. Cleaning schools so they can remain open is considered essential work and will continue.
