Wangi Wangi Public School construction contract goes out to tender

Release date: 27 February 2019

The Wangi Wangi community is another step closer to benefiting from a major upgrade to Wangi Wangi Public School, with the construction contract now issued for tender.

The tender milestone represents the latest step in the project which will transform the existing school. The project will deliver new permanent classrooms, refurbished special program spaces, a new administration building, new canteen and a new hall.

Construction will begin soon and is scheduled for completion in late 2020.

Education Minister Rob Stokes said the NSW Government is building on the State’s world class education system.

“This major upgrade at Wangi Wangi Public School will provide the local community with the high-quality education facilities our children need to succeed,” Mr Stokes said.

The NSW Government is investing $6 billion over the next four years to deliver more than 170 new and upgraded schools to support communities across NSW. In addition, a record $1.3 billion is being spent on school maintenance over four years, along with a record $500 million for the sustainable Cooler Classrooms program to provide air conditioning to schools. This is the largest investment in public education infrastructure in the history of NSW.
