Release date: 27 February 2019

Education Minister Rob Stokes and Member for Baulkham Hills, David Elliot visited North Rocks Public School to mark the beginning of construction work of an exciting refurbishment of the site.

The major upgrade will greatly benefit the North Rocks community by delivering 15 flexible learning spaces, as well as new amenities and administration facilities.

Once completed in mid-2020 the school will have the capacity to accommodate up to 934 students, an additional 151 on current capacity.

“We want our children to have the best education possible, and providing high-quality school facilities is a key part of that,” Mr Elliot said.

“I’m delighted the NSW Government is delivering on this important project.”

Mr Stokes said the NSW Government was strengthening the State’s world-class education system.

“This project at North Rocks Public School will deliver the high-quality school resources our students and teachers deserve,” Mr Stokes said.

The NSW Government is investing $6 billion over the next four years to deliver more than 170 new and upgraded schools to support communities across NSW. In addition, a record $1.3 billion is being spent on school maintenance over four years, along with a record $500 million for the sustainable Cooler Classrooms program to provide air conditioning to schools. This is the largest investment in public education infrastructure in the history of NSW.
