New Yandelora School to open this week

Release date: 26 January 2019

The new Yandelora School will open its doors to students and teachers for the first time this week.

The $20 million project is a new School for Specific Purposes (SSP) that will meet the needs of students with moderate to severe intellectual and physical disabilities in the Camden and Macarthur areas.

The school provides 16 classrooms for students from Kindergarten to Year 12, as well as a hydrotherapy pool, library and a school hall.

All classrooms will be air conditioned as part of the NSW Government’s Cooler Classrooms program that is seeing air conditioning delivered in thousands of classrooms across the State.

The NSW Government is proud to invest in schools like Yandelora that ensure every child in NSW has access to the support they need within the public education system, no matter their circumstance.

Yandelora School is one of 17 new and upgraded schools opening across NSW for the first day of the new school year.

The NSW Government is investing $6 billion over four years to deliver more than 170 new and upgraded schools to support communities across NSW. In addition, a record $847 million is being spent on school maintenance over four years.
