Marie Bashir Public School upgrade complete

Release date: 26 January 2019

Marie Bashir Public School students will go back to school this week and begin learning in their brand new facilities, with the school’s $6 million upgrade now complete.

The upgrade includes 18 refurbished classrooms, two new lifts and an upgraded disabled toilet facility.

All classrooms will be air conditioned as part of the NSW Government’s Cooler Classrooms program that is seeing air conditioning delivered in thousands of classrooms across the State.

Marie Bashir Public School is the one of two major school upgrades being completed in the Strathfield community for the start of the school year.

The project is one of 17 new and upgraded schools opening across NSW for the first day of the new school year.

The NSW Government is investing $6 billion over four years to deliver more than 170 new and upgraded schools to support communities across NSW. In addition, $847 million is being spent on school maintenance over four years.
