First look: Wentworthville Public School upgrade

Release date: 18 January 2019

Images have now been released of a major upgrade at Wentworthville Public School, which is being built and funded by the NSW Government.

The upgrade will deliver 31 new classrooms and upgrade core facilities including the school hall and canteen. The project will allow demountables on the school site to be removed, freeing up valuable playground space for students to enjoy.

A State Significant Development Application is being lodged for the project. Pending planning approval, work is expected to begin early 2019 and be completed by mid 2021. The school will be capable of accommodating 1,000 students.

This project is part of the NSW Government’s record $6 billion school building program over the next four years, which will deliver more than 170 new and upgraded schools to support communities throughout NSW. This is the largest investment into public school infrastructure by any state government in Australian history.
