Brand new Bella Vista Public School set to open

Release date: 26 January 2019

The new Bella Vista Public School will open its doors to students and teachers for the first time this week.

Stage 1 of the $45 million project will open its doors to excited students and teachers this week and includes 20 brand new classrooms, a new hall, covered outdoor learning spaces, and dedicated classrooms for students with special needs.

All classrooms will be air conditioned as part of the NSW Government’s Cooler Classrooms program that is seeing air conditioning delivered in thousands of classrooms across the State.

The community will also benefit from the school’s new synthetic sports pitch and double-court indoor sports hall, which has been built in partnership with Hills Shire Council and will be available to the public for local community use.

Works will be continuing on the second stage of the project to provide additional classrooms to enable the school to accommodate up to 1,000 students.

There are currently two additional projects underway in the Baulkham Hills community, with the North Rocks Public School upgrade in the design stage and construction already commencing at Excelsior Public School, with work due to be delivered late next year.

Bella Vista Public School is one of 17 new and upgraded schools opening across NSW on the first day of the new school year.

The NSW Government is investing $6 billion over four years to deliver more than 170 new and upgraded schools to support communities across NSW. In addition, $847 million is being spent on school maintenance over four years. This is the largest investment in public education infrastructure in the history of NSW.
