First look: Samuel Gilbert Public School upgrade
Release date: 17 December 2018
Images have now been released of a major upgrade project at Samuel Gilbert Public School, which is being built and funded by the NSW Government.
The project will deliver 25 new classrooms, a new library, hall and administration area.
The new hall will be built to have a separate access point so it can also be used by the local community.
The works are scheduled to be completed in early 2021. The school will be capable of accommodating up to 1,000 students.
The project will also allow demountables on the school site to be removed, freeing up valuable playground space for students to enjoy.
A State Significant Development Application has been lodged. This project is part of the NSW Government’s record $6 billion school building program over the next four years, which will deliver more than 170 new and upgraded schools to support communities throughout NSW. This is the largest investment into public school infrastructure by any state government in Australian history
