Tender opens on Farrer Memorial Agricultural High School upgrade
Release date: 06 November 2017
Education Minister Rob Stokes has announced that major upgrades at Farrer Memorial Agricultural High School will soon begin, with the release today of a construction tender to industry for the development.
The upgrades will include:
- Construction of a brand new state-of-the-art industrial technology building which will provide facilities for studies in woodwork and metalwork, and will provide additional classroom capacity, and
- the construction of new and refurbished boarding accommodation.
Construction work will begin in the new year on the project, which was recently approved by Tamworth Regional Council.
Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson said Farrer students will benefit from these new facilities at this unique school which is one of the few agricultural public boarding schools in NSW.
“This academically selected agricultural public high school is servicing and providing specialist opportunities for students in regional communities.” Mr Anderson said.
Education Minister Rob Stokes said the NSW Government’s unprecedented school building program was providing new and improved school facilities across the State.
“This exciting upgrade project demonstrates the strength of our commitment to providing a high quality of education in the best possible learning environments for students here in New England and right across NSW.” Mr Stokes said.
The work is expected to be complete for the start of the 2019 school year.
