Brand new facilities on the way for Epping Public School

Release date: 02 November 2017

Students at Epping Public School will soon enjoy new state of the art learning facilities including innovative new classrooms and a library, funded by the NSW Government.

Education Minister Rob Stokes and Member for Epping Damien Tudehope this week released a tender to industry for construction of the new school facilities.

This major upgrade will modernise the school and improve its infrastructure, increasing the capacity of the school to more than 730 students when it is completed in early 2020.

Construction will begin early in the new year on a new three-storey building containing a new library and special programs room along with 22 new adaptable classrooms.

These innovative new learning spaces can easily be reconfigured to cater for different sized groups and a range of learning activities, better enabling teachers to tailor learning to the needs of individual students.

The school’s administration area, staff room and kitchen are also being upgraded as part of the project, and new landscaping will be provided.

Member for Epping Damien Tudehope welcomed the upgrade.

“It is wonderful to see this investment in building great new facilities at Epping Public School moving forward.

“The project is providing the facilities that our local families deserve,” Mr Tudehope said.

Rob Stokes said the project was part of an unprecedented school building program currently underway across NSW.

“We know how important Epping Public School is to the local community and we are delighted to be delivering the best educational environment we can for the wonderful students and staff,” Rob Stokes said.

Epping Public School is one of more than 120 projects funded by the NSW Government over the next four years under a record breaking $4.2 billion school building program announced as part of the 2017/18 State Budget. This is the biggest investment in public education infrastructure in the history of NSW.
