About schools renewal programs
As part of the NSW Government’s COVID-19 Recovery Plan, $120 million has been committed to accelerate projects and deliver modern infrastructure to schools right across regional NSW.
An additional $120 million is available for schools in metropolitan Sydney to deliver a range of projects that will help improve the amenity of their school. The total value of investment is up to $420 million, including important school contributions.
The Programs aim to create and support local jobs and economies, in particular the construction services industry. Evidence also indicates that improved learning environments benefit the health, wellbeing and learning outcomes of students.
The type of projects to be delivered include:
● canteen upgrades
● Covered Outdoor Learning Areas (COLAs)
● wet areas and amenity upgrades
● outdoor and play equipment upgrades
● access and car parking improvements.
These Programs will make a positive difference to young people and their local communities right across NSW.
