New high school in Macquarie Park

As part of the NSW Government's plan to rebuild public education, the NSW Budget is delivering record education funding, including $9 billion for new and upgraded schools. This targeted investment will ensure growing communities get access to a world class public education.

The project forms part of the NSW Government’s broader strategy of investment in the Ryde area to cater for enrolment growth. The investment also includes Midtown Macquarie Park new primary school and an upgrade to Ryde Secondary College.

Plans on exhibition

The planning application, known as a Review of Environmental Factors (REF), for Macquarie Park new high school is now on public exhibition on the NSW Planning Portal for Division 5.1 (Part 5) Activities.

Any comments on the proposal may be lodged through the Planning Portal by no later than Monday 23 February 2026.

The benefits

The new high school will cater for 2,000 students and will include:

  • indoor and outdoor sports courts and play spaces

  • general and specialist classrooms

  • a multipurpose hall

  • a canteen

  • administration facilities.
