Griffith High School - stage 2 upgrade

The hall is progressing well and reached ‘lock up’ stage with the roof on. Other progress includes:

• The performance area is taking shape, with the stage and the chair store almost finished and the stage being prepared for hanging the curtains.
• The hall’s structural flooring has been installed.
• We are currently installing timber linings and ‘echo panels’ in the walls, which are designed to soak up sound to minimise noise for the school and surrounding community.
• The building is finally losing its raw construction look, with internal windows in, the first coats of paint being applied, and the individual rooms like the kitchenette, bathrooms, and corridor are now clearly defined.
• The library has received a facelift and will have new furniture delivered in early April.

• The brick wall in the basketball court area which was damaged while the roof was being done, will be replaced in the coming weeks. The Aboriginal community will be consulted on a new artwork for the wall.
• In the April school holidays, bike racks for 13 bikes will be installed adjacent to the main entry on Coolah Street
• We will put in the retractable seating and the polished timber floors in the coming months.
• Outdoor landscaping and external services will be finished by the end of May 2026.
• We are on track to finish construction in mid 2026.
