Maitland Public School
The students at Maitland Public School come from diverse socio-economic backgrounds. The academic achievement of students is broad, with many achieving at very high standards. A variety of co-curricular activities and programs (band, dance, gymnastics, choir, environmental education, sport) are available to provide opportunities that meet the needs of every student. The school displays a strong ethos where learning is valued, and all students actively participate in the many and varied cultural experiences. Camaraderie and friendship is evident and acknowledged by all those who visit. The school is inclusive and has two special classes. Parents play a very active role in school life, helping in classrooms, running the Parents and Citizens association, band program and literacy development.The school is widely known for its outstanding technology programs and its innovative web site. All students have their own web sites where they record work throughout the year.
We recognise the Ongoing Custodians of the lands and waterways where we work and live. We pay respect to Elders past and present as ongoing teachers of knowledge, songlines and stories. We strive to ensure every Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander learner in NSW achieves their potential through education.
