Communities of Practice

Release date: 17 November 2020

In 2020, School Infrastructure NSW started a communities of practice pilot with our industry partners, to open a two-way dialogue. Our communities aim to identify mutually beneficial system improvements and efficiencies and provide constructive feedback on our processes and systems, to enable School Infrastructure’s continuous improvement.

As part of the pilot, we launched four communities in 2020:

  • Project Mangers
  •  Architects
  •  Cost Managers
  • Statutory Planners

Our communities use these sessions to drive innovation, share lessons learnt and focus on continuous improvement in the planning, design, delivery and maintenance of the NSW’s public education infrastructure.

Based on the preliminary success achieved to date, we are now looking to expand into new areas, such as engineering and facilities management. More news to come on these in 2021.
