Planning progress for new school in Wagga Wagga

Release date: 22 June 2018

In a commitment to supporting regional NSW, Education Minister Rob Stokes, and Member for Wagga Wagga Daryl Maguire, today announced the location of a new primary school in Wagga Wagga.

During the last year, early planning investigations determined a range of options for the much-needed new school, including the potential for facilities sharing across the community.

Negotiations have taken place to locate the new school so it is integrated with the Charles Sturt University campus in Estella, as well as the adjoining land identified for development by Wagga Wagga City Council as recreation and sporting facilities.

The NSW Government's 2018/19 Budget includes $6 billion over four years to deliver more than 170 new and upgraded schools. This includes an additional $160 million spend as part of the record $747 million maintenance investment announced last year.

This is the largest investment in public education infrastructure in the history of NSW.
